All Golden Acoustic panels are made out of a patented material manufactured by USG. It is a “green” product called polymerized reinforced gypsum. This material can be pigmented or painted. Painting has no harmful effect on the performance of the panels. The panels can be drilled for mounting purposes. The density of the material is greater than 100 lbs. per cubic foot, which allows for an overall panel wall thickness of approximately 3/8 of an inch. This gives the panels a functional mass of approximately 5 lbs. per square foot, the ideal weight for an efficient diffuser/reflector.
